I'm surprised there aren't great piles of shims laying about everywhere. They are oddly difficult to find.

I have over 300. If you need a standard size let me know. The odd ball sizes I tend to hang on to though.

Anything smaller than 2400 and larger than 2600 in my opinion.

Say someone does need an oddball size? Wasn't there a post years back that said there were powersport shims that worked fine, I think they were for a yamaha motorcycle.

I think the range is from about 2 to 2.7, so oddball by the definition above is around 14 sizes vs the 6 others.

The sizes range as follows - 2400, 2425, 2450, 2475, 2500, 2525, 2550, etc..... The most common shim size by far is 2500. When doing a valve shim on stock heads with stock cams it is very uncommon for me to need anything smaller than 2400 or larger than 2600. Partly for that reason those sizes are less common. I probably have 50 2500s vs maybe 3 or 4 2675s. These odd ball sizes become very important when dealing with custom ground heads and cams.
