Will these rims fit? COBRA-R

It's almost Spring, and I'm thinking of selling my white 17" RS Limited rims in place for some nice 17" Cobra-Rs!

First question: Will these rims fit? My RS Limited rims are 17x7. I had 235-45-17 tires and WOW they were close to hitting the subframe! These R's are 17x9... Also, I'd like to stick with the 235-45 tire, but I think it would look a lot better if the sidewalls were a tad bigger (wheel gap can be seen as I stuck with the stock strut/spring setup)... 235-55 maybe?

Second question: OPINIONS!!! What's everyone think of these shoes?

9" wide wheels are too wide for the SHO.

the mustang uses a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. the SHO uses a 5x4.25. those will not fit without an adapter and even then, to get the clearence you need on the inside those 9" wide wheels will stick out way past the fenders. 8" is about the max for what will fit between the fenders and the struts.

I didn't even look at the link to see if they had the right bolt pattern, I just assumed he knew that it should be 5x108mm.

Not only what they said, but 235/55/17 is way too big.

yeah,.... 235-50-17 would fit. or 245-45-17 wich would fit a wider wheel better.

The wheels you have linked from discount tires have the wrong offset. Appears to be +20.

There are no Cobra wheel sized 17X8 with the 5-108mm bolt pattern.
Superior wheel company made a replica Cobra SVT R wheel (Scoundrel) that was 7 1/2" wide which is 1/2" wider than the Ford Motorsport Thunderbird Cobra R wheel, but the Scoundrel has been discontinued. The Ford Motorsport Thunderbird wheel is 17X7. I have these wheels dedicated to the track with Kumhos.
