Will 94 ATX alternator fit in 91SHO?

Nope. Completely different design.

Just for the record, the '91 used a field wound stator coil (no magnets at all), direct drive and a separate relay mounted on the driver side fender. It is much larger in diameter than the starter for the '94 ATX. Also much less expensive to replace. The ATX starters used permanent magnets, gear reduction and had an integral relay.

Just for the record...an alternator for a 94 ATX is different than one for a 94 MTX

scott, i believe he was speaking of the alternator.... which is an interesting question...
i can tell you that you would have a better chance of the ATX alternator working than the 93-95 MTX alternator being that both the early MTX and ATX alternators were mitsubishi manufactured units (thus a better chance that the harness connects the same)... as for the question of it bolting up, i don't know... but you'd have to check almost every measurement especially how far out the pulley sits so as to make sure that the belt is in a straight line running over the crank and a/c compressor

Doh! For some reason, I was stuck on the starter. Yeah, the alternators are quite different too.
