for some reason when i go over bumps in the road my tach likes to bounce a little, its kinda annoying when i see it bouncing up and down about 100-200 rpm's. the engine doesnt misfire at all and it bounces even when i tap on the dash above the guage cluster. just wondering if the guages are known to break solder joints or something?

Most likely the clockspring in the gauge is no good.

Erratic signals such as a bad CPS can also cause a bounce, but because tapping the dash changes the reading, I'd go with the first possibility.

Don't go over bumps? :laugh_ti: j/k If it really bugs ya, replace the cluster, I don't know if you can do just the tach in these cars or not, like the Mustang...
