What do you think white SVT wheels would look like on a white SHO, especially a white 94mtx.

Look good?

Yea or nay? Any and all opinions are welcome. TIA

I've seen them on two Sho's, and it looks awesome! If I find a cheap enough set, I'd put em on my damn winter car. Be careful if you want to powdercoat your current set. I had the ZR1 rims on the vette powdercoated, and the bastards have already chipped in several spots. Make sure the company puts a guarantee on them. What happened to selling it?

I've managed my finances in order to keep the SHO and afford a new Z or L.

However, I have 30 days to cancel the SS order. Of course, after I order the SS, I find out that the Ram Air WS6's are consistently faster than the SS. (?) Weird.

My father has promised me help with initial payments and afforded me his D-plan on a Lightning. Being a Ford executive for 24 years, it pains him to see me even considering a product from the General. $28.1 for a '02 Lightning or $29.4 for a '02 SLP-loaded SS and $29.9 for a similarly-equipped WS6. The truck is by far more practical, but the F-bodies will roast the truck. Hmmm.....

Deciding....

******** that must be nice man, i personally would go with the WS6, just because around me there are more camaros, i see probaby 5-10 SS every day and only 1-3 WS6 and i like the ooks of the ws6 better. shit, all i know is whatever you get will be sweet. keep in mind, the lightning only has the auto too. too bad, i can only imagine how fast it would be with a cobra 5 speed backing it.

I wouldn't say that the F-bodies are going to rust the truck. I've seen some videos of those Lightnings running 12's with a few mods. I'll have to go find it again.

Most LS1 F-bodies are into the 110mph trap speed area with $700 in mods. 5mph in a 1/4-mile drag race is a pretty large deficit. It doesn't seem like much, but it really is when you are watching the vehicles side-by-side.

The only downside to the Lightning is it's 4600+ pound heft. Look at the power it has to generate to run a 105mph trap speed. 379hp to the wheels? Whew! The ET's are wonderful because the thing is a monster off the line. 325rwhp will put an F-body well into the 12's. I get a kick out the Gtech times for different Camaro's and Trans Am's. If we get in the low 6's on a 0-60 sprint, we bust a nut. Some of those dude's are in the mid-4's with minor bolt-on's. Now that's what I'm talkin about.

For the most part, personally speaking, it's not so much which is faster but which will be more affordable. I'm getting up there (25 in August) so insurance really isn't a problem.

Both vehicles have their positives and negatives, but I'll tell you this: Deciding between the two is a wonderful problem to have! Either way, the SHO will reside peacefully in the garage and come out when the need arises, unless someone offers me a smokin' deal.

I love white wheels on white cars. Even the white slicers on the sho's look good. I think some white SVT's would look killer.

BTW, that guy just ran a better time now. Here is the time slip:

I definitely do love the lightnings, but I agree on the post about f-bodies being able to smoke the truck. May not happen right away, but if you think about it, the truck already has a blower on it, so the mods aren't going to be half as plentiful as for the SS or WS6. You can make those run close to 400hp N/A, then add up to 200 more with a blower, or do what the guy did on LS1.com and run a twin turbo setup and get 10.9's and be able to roast street bikes. Personally, I liked the earlier design of the 4th generation camaros, but hated the same version of the firebird. Now, my opinion is reversed. The new WS6 looks sharp, especially in the arrest me red color. Now a small tip from me. I'm not sure if the formula is still available but you can do this. Order a Formula with the autocross package. The WS6 option is included with this, then you have the option to delete all power options, which credits you just about the same money as the WS6 option, and you get a lighter car. Then you can check off all the SLP goodies. The 1 98 formula V8 I drove put a huge grin on my face

the formula is the slp packaged v6, it takes the suspension off of the stock v8, sway bars, etc and puts them on the v6, nice, but not quite fast enough.

I believe you are mistaken. I have heard a few formulas, and there is no WAY they are V-6s. If they are I need to find out who does the exhaust work on that car, because it sounds just like a 5.7L.

the formula indeed comes with a V8, trust me, I used to deliver ponchos for the dealership I worked with. They are a firebird with the 346 LS1, 6spd or auto, just not as many options as the T/A.
