Saw it earlier. I'm already looking into how to get it back to TN in an economical way. If I didn't already have two west coast SHOs to get home this one would be mine for sure.

Thought for a moment that it might have been Mike Hadley's car that I worked on last year, but his is a '90 and he lives in Santa Ynez, a few miles from Lompoc.

OK Im totally ignorant about SHO values. Was this a really desirable car or was the seller just lucky. I understand this one was a MTX which is more desirable, but I picked up my SHO in Feb for $3000. Its a close option match to this one other than mine is an ATX with about 15K more miles. Can anyone give me an idea on why this one went for so much more?

Thanks

First off, a comparable MTX will always be worth more than an ATX. Easily $2k more if it's got the 3rd pedal.

When it comes to this car there are a few different factors that make it so desirable. This particular SHO is a fully loaded 91+. The Plus option was only available in 1991 and it was limited to just over 2500 cars. Of those 2500 only so many were white and only so many had the full black leather interior. The next factor is its a California car so it's going to be rust free. Lastly you have to take into account the condition. Looking at the seats of this car you can see that it was well taken care of. Rust free, cared for, 91+ = very desirable and I'm happy to see the values finally going up.

BTW, if your car is an ATX then that means it's a Gen2. The Gen2s are not as desirable as the Gen1s like this one is. That is another factor as to why it might be worth more. Even with a close option match, they will not be measured in the same way.

Thanks for the clarification. Didnt realize that 3rd pedal made that much of a difference.

My first SHO was a 94 ATX (still have it), the next 4 (92, 92, 95, 94) were MTX's
Be careful, it can become addicting

So, apparently it didn't sell back on March 8th, or whenever the last listing Ended. As I mentioned days ago, I always assumed that eBay "Ended" meant not sold.
