My '93 SHO has the usual cracked buttons on the EATC. I want to upgrade to the model with the hardened buttons, but don't know which unit to use. A friend who works at a Ford dealership gave me a unit he thought would work. The unit itself was slightly narrower and shorter than the 93 unit, but it did have the larger buttons. Everything plugged in, so I thought it would work. After installation, it powered up normally but the blower motor runs at high speed even when the EATC reads "off". I didn't check to see if everything else worked because I thought the unit might not be compatible with my car and cause some other problem. After removing this unit and re-installing my factory unit, everything was back to normal. I don't know what vehicle the unit I used came from, but the Ford number on the decal is F5PF-18C615-BBSR. The word "ORANGE" is also printed on the decal. Does anyone know why this unit wouldn't work? What part number should I be looking for and what vehicle come equipped with it?

I got an EATC from a 95 Taurus. It wasn't from a SHO. The unit fits perfectly, has the hardened buttons, and works like it should. So to answer your question, the 95 Taurus unit works perfect. Sounds like you got a Lincoln EATC, in which case, I'm pretty sure you can swap the Lincoln face onto your SHO's EATC, so you'd have the correct EATC, with the Lincoln EATC's buttons. Looked like you just unclip the face, and throw it on your other EATC. Good luck!

F5PF is a generic ford number (motorcraft) so i'm not sure which car it came from but it sounds like the contiential unit. the only unit that works for sure is the taurus/sable unit. i'll try and find the part number i have it here somewhere. also the face plate is only PLUG AND PLAY with some mod's to the tabs on the new units. (94+ hard button units)
i'll post the number as soon as i find it. :D
