where to find obselete parts

i was changing my cam shaft seal on my 93 atx and i noticed that the seal in between the back timing cover plate and it sits over the cam seal housing, the ford part number is 6k292 and i just need to know where can i get that seal and if not is that a really important seal? thanx

I think you are talking about the hard rubber seals that attach to the camshaft penetrations in the rear, metal timing belt cover. They are needed to prevent the intrusion of debris into the timing belt area that can shorten the life of the belt and tensioner bearings. Sorry, but I can't answer the question of how you can get a replacement.

What happened to yours? Are they still in good shape or did they get beat up upon removal?

They are not a critical seal, i.e. they do not contain fluids or anything like that, so as long as they aren't broken badly or missing a big portion, you will probably be safe in keeping the old ones.
