Does sound like a stretch, but I'm telling you Grumpy had that fixed (by spraying and cycling) in just a couple minutes. I never would've remembered if it hadn't been for my amazement at the time.

You're not going to need to empty an entire can into your column, just enough to clean those contacts.

C'mon down tomorrow (Sunday), I'll give it a shot for you.

The multiswitches are a pain. Especially if you've had any higher wattage bulbs in any spot that switch controls. I used to try getting higher wattage bulbs for the pathetic Gen II lenses. First, I melted 2 harnesses. After that the multiswitch was finicky and wouldn't always light up the highbeams. Finally, at about 1:30AM, in North Adams on a snowy night, the multiswitch started smoking and I lost my lowbeams. Not only that, but I'd only get highbeams in the flash mode.

That was a tough 3 hour ride home.

i unfortunately know that feeling all too well...i used to have an old T-bird that would happen to do that every 4 months or so....
