Hi I am replacing a rear wheel hub on a 93 sho. I got the thing off but in the midst of it the bolt that holds the hub to the shock siezed up, now I thought I drilled the bolt out, but I didn't and I ended up bending the ear of the bottom that's on the shock, my question is, how important is this bottom ear, can i just bend it back or do I have to create some sort of a re-enforcement in that area?

I've read that 89 hubs wont fit the 93 shos, can someone elaborate on this? having two cars side by side everything seems to fit, if I was to replace one side on the 93 with a 89 hub would i have to replace the other side as well?

That tab on the side of the strut tube is basically an installation aid, it has little if any weight bearing capability. The strut is held in place by the clamping action of the pinch bolt.
89s are different in the rear, the entire spindle/hub can be swapped as a unit, but the individual pieces are not interchangeable. 89s have an old style two piece bearing, 93s have a one piece cartridge bearing. The spindles are different to handle the different bearings. The caliper mounting brackets, calipers, and rotors are different too.

In addition to all of that, there's no accomodation for the ABS sensors.

I recently swapped my broken rear knuckle from my 93 with a 90. The only thing that was different was the plate that the caliper bracket mounts to. I switched the plate over and it worked great. I reused my old hub, so I had no problems with wrong/different bearings.
