I'm looking at getting some SVT T-bird rims and the guy selling them has 245/50/17 BFGoodrich tires on them. Will these tires fit or are they too tall?

I would say yes. I put my bird's 245/60-15 on the front of my SHO so it would pass inspection... and it was damn close to rubbing. I would not run a tire that big for maore than the few miles to and from the station.

Way too tall, they will not fit under the spring perches on the struts. Plus a 245 tire on a 7.0" rim is pushing it a bit. Best bet would be 225/50-17 or 235/45-17, although a couple of people have put 245/45-17 on those rims.

I just put some new Bridgestone 730's on...225/45/17. They look sweet, going to have to shim the rears though, only have about 1/4" clearance left to right on the inside. Looks like fenders and bottoms of springs are all good though. Going to look at it some more and make sure the fronts are good. Wheel offset is 43.
