I might need to do this soon and i was wondering:
What's the best way to get oil out of the plug wells?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Soak it up with a clean rag. I used a popsicle stick with a rag wrapped around it to get as much as I could.
Then blow it out with compressed air keeping in mind to cover things up as best as possible so you don't blow oil all over the place (including yourself/eyes).
I also heard that spraying some cleaner in there and soaking it up/then blowing it out is an option but I cannot verify what cleaner. Perhaps carb cleaner, I'm not sure.

I use a shop vac with a long thin funnel on the end. Works well for me. Also, a syringe with no needle from a drugstore works - a bit of tubing is necessary though.

I usually take an air compressor air tool and use an old towel and put the blower into the hole then the air blows all of the oil into the rag, works great

I use a Black and Decker hand vacuum pump with a narrow tube to reach past the plug hex nut to get to the bottom of the well and a longer discharge tube to route the oil to an empty oil bottle that is usually positioned between the radiator and the engine.

I have also use a Go-Jo hand cleaner pump spray in an emergency. The hand cleaner pump has large diameter passages that don't get clogged with the muck from the bottom of the plug wells.

I usually spray intake cleaner to make a lower viscosity mixture for ease of suckage. It takes a couple of sprays and pumps before the well is usually clean.
