My SHO has let me down once again. At 126k the 2nd transmission (replaced at 84k) has taken the dirt nap and I no longer have 3rd or Overdrive.

I am hearing quotes at $2k - $3k and I am wondering why I should even bother spending all that money on something that is barely worth $5k (Prob. $2 with the trans. out)

Any ideas... or even better, any good references in the Michigan area for a transmission specialist that doesn't rape you at the door?

The real problem is that without the transmission the car is only worth 1000 to 1500 max even in perfect condition. So its kinda like you have already spent the 2000 fixing it to get the car back to being worth 5K again.

Get the rebuilt ford tranny with all its upgrades and a trans-go shift kit. Third time around my trans shop through in a few upgrades they "forgot" (neglected) to put in so they through in a shift kit for free. Car feels faster cause of the shifts. Very surprising difference.
