Many a thanks to the following: PlatoRibs (Chris Gates), Irish Pride (Chad), and Jeremiah Johnson.
Many of you have seen the pics on Facebook of my beginning to my 1st SHO Convention. I learned a valuable lesson, hood pins are not optional. The carbon fiber hood I got from Scott (whiteguy3) a couple of weeks prior, let go or unlatched at 75 mph, no warning. The good thing was, no one was anywhere near me on the highway and the hood didn't fly off and hit anyone else's car.
How I arrived to the convention hotel:
92-93 blue hood How I left the convention and arrived home:
Chris provided a place for me to crash on the way to the convention and on the way back home and fed me too. Mucho hospitiable!
Chad, came back 30 miles to tell me after my windshield was smashed, "If it were me, I'd drive it!", then we both jumped in our cars, and drove the remaining 450 miles to the convention hotel. I was feeling rather overwhelmed and I needed that encouragement to just get in and go.
Jeremiah, had a hood in his basement. We agreed on a price. Went to his house Thursday morning, we brought it out of the basement, installed it in about 5-10 minutes, I tried to pay him, and he told me to just take it and I didn't owe him anything.
Then a thanks to all who signed the hood, this will be a wall hanger in the garage. What a memorable week! Thank you to all who helped me out, without you, the week could have been a whole lot harder.
