I talked to another SHO owner around here a while ago and he drives a red 1999 with chromies and I asked him if he had his car welded, he told me no because ford fixed the problem after a certain year and he didn't need it.

Is this true? It has been bugging me for a while, and I'm willing to bet that I won't see his SHO parked in front of his house any longer as he has a lot of miles on it.

Thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out for the guy. If I see him I'll advise him to get it welded asap.
I know there is a white 96 down the road that some lady drives...probably on its way out soon.

Right- there was no fix from Ford.

Mine failed at 37k, had engine replaced, and the replacement has 183,000 gloriously unwelded miles on it. At this point, the car body with 220k on it isn't worth much more than what I'd put into fixing everything that nitpicks me about it, including welding the cams. If it goes- eh, ok. I'll part it out. I could do it, but it wouldn't be worth any more than the value of the parted and sold stuff at 220k.

But if he's got some value, he should weld it.
