It's broke!!! I'm wondering about all this fix the mount stuff and your tranny will work fine. My brother will do it(he's a mechanic) but is not familiar with the SHO. How hard guys?? Tools required? and parts cost????

Front mount is like 1 hour book time if I recall correctly...

1. Remove lower damper attaching bolt from RH side of engine, Fig. 3.

2. Raise and support vehicle, then place suitable jack and block of wood under engine.

3. Remove nuts attaching roll damper to engine mount, then the roll damper.

4. Raise engine enough to unload insulator.

5. Remove two attaching bolts, then insulator from engine bracket.

6. Reverse procedure to install.

That procedure didn't mention that you have to drain the radiator and remove the lower radiator hose to be able to get the old mount out and the new mount in.

ATX or MTX? There is no roll damper on the ATX mount.

I don't believe the ATX R&R of the forward mount requires draining the coolant system. The (non-Ford) dealer that I had replace my mount under warranty bitched about the coolant draining and I went over the procedure with the manager, they agreed to do it. I assume they didn't have to remove the radiator hose since book time is pretty low.. it's like 1.3 or 0.7 or something like that.

I don't know why the roll damper is in there.. maybe a transcription error from a MTX car..

The only contact you should have with any part of the cooling system is from rubbing your forearm against the lower cooling hose. Very simple task.

If you didn't remove the lower radiator hose, how did you access the engine-side mounting bolt that hides immediately behind the hose? Also, with the A/C lines in the area, there was no way to get the mount out other than to the side through the wheel well. I guess not all cars are assmebled or repaired in quite the same way. Maybe I just didn't lift the engine quite as much as you guys did.
