Those look pretty nice, but I wouldn't call this an "upgrade" since it doesn't enhance the performance of anything.

They are ones that are used on mustang's. You can get them from Scott Drake or other mustang parts places. I had to do some work on a couple to get them to work. The brake cap I am still working on. The dip stick I had to cut the sides down and am going to have to turn the small shaft down so it we fit in the dip stick tube.

Instead of cutting the sides down on the dipstick just pull that stupid plastic cover off.

Since the '10 has been introduced to the world, it seems the main point everyone has had to say about the car was "the first thing I'm going to do is pull the plastic cover off" and NO ONE is doing it. Someone do it already!

It simply snaps on and off - no bolts, screws, nuts. I saw a Ford Engineer do it at the convention.

Unfortunately, removing the engine cover will make the DI fuel pump under the hood VERY audible, making the car sound like a diesel.

That is true. I've head it first hand. The engine cover, which has like 3" of foam on it already, holds down another layer of ~2" thick foam around the high pressure fuel pump. I think I would be Ok with the sound, but you could always just put double sided foam tape on the inside of the foam on the fuel pump and stick it onto the fuel pump cover to keep at least one layer in place. It wouldn't look fantastic, but would get the job done.

Believe me, I was ready to remove that cover and powdercoat the valve covers and intake, then I heard about the pump noise too. Plus, there is a lot of crap under that cover. Unless you do some stainless lines, or something that looks cool. It just looks way too busy under that plastic cover.

IIRC Kirk is running without his installed, and it doesn't sound loud at all.

A nice fabricated sheetmetal cover would be nice... :)

TBH, there are tons of non-stock stuff for cars that isn't an upgrade... Taking a walk down the ricer section of Pep Boys proves this.

To add to that, I can't see the picture on the network I'm on, so I'm not referencing what you've done at all.

Looks Good!
If one likes it better than stock, then It is an upgrade! "Upgrade" doesn't mean or pertain to performance only. It is an appearance upgrade.

Nice work you're doing under the hood there Bob. Nothing gaudy there, it is a classy dress up. If your wife is rolling her eyes, just tell her you're accessorizing. I'm sure she'll understand it then
