I said this would never happen (just like everyone else) and the day is now here. Up for sale is my partially restored black on black 91+. I have owned this car for the last 8 years and have put roughly 22k on it in that time. Most of these miles have been long distance highway miles and were before I had the car repainted.

***Before I go any farther if you are looking for a cheap SHO that has the **** beat out of it you have come to the wrong place. I don’t care what you think this car is worth and would appreciate if you keep any unconstructive comments out of this thread. ***

I am having a hard time finding receipts as I have moved many times in the past 8 years; however I will list everything I can think of good and bad at this point.

I purchased the car in March of 2002 from a guy in California with 94k on it. I drove it back to North Dakota and had it repainted at a cost of roughly $3,500. I had the body shop confirm that there was NO rust under the body cladding and I replaced the deck lid as it had a little surface rust on the underside lip. The car is as RUST FREE as you will find – It still has the ORIGINAL exhaust to prove it! This car has not been driven in bad weather, much less during the winter.

Current Odometer – 119,***

New Tires – Bridgestone Potenza’s less than 3500 miles ago
New Rear Window & Tint
New Gen III Subframe bushings
New Throwout bearing (went to replace clutch and just did the bearing)
New actuator fork bushings? (replaced the plastic ones with Teflon coated from ShoNut)
Complete Interior Cleaning (seats, carpet, plastic all removed & cleaned)
Idler pulley bearing
Paint @ 108,***
60k including valve lash adjustment
New Motorcraft plugs and wires
New Waterpump
New belts (timing, accessories)
New Thermostat
Both front wheel bearings

The Bad:
1 crack in dash – I believe this is fixable, but is still there
Cracked EATC - I think I have another one with a good faceplate that will go with car
1 rip in driver leather seat – courtesy of getting in with a screwdriver in my pocket! (I sewed it up)
Needs strut mount bearings/bushings – creaks when turning. I was going to replace the whole suspension at once, just hadn’t gotten that far yet.
A/C doesn’t work – Hasn’t since I purchased in 02. I never even tried to determine why, just figured I would replace the whole system.
Has a new oil consumption issue. I took it on vacation July of 2010 (a few thousand miles) and had to add oil, which is new. I believe this problem is from old/cracked valve seals. I am so confident I didn't save the good running, 60k'd, non-oil using 3.0L out of my 92 when I parted it. I have not driven the car since vacation except to move in and out of the garage a few times. I would love to fix this before selling. Heck I would love to have these replaced and bring the car to the convention. With a 2 month old son, wife starting a new job and my job being more demanding than ever I just don't see it happening.

Long story short the car had been sitting in my garage for the past several years.

I had the car detailed about 3500 miles ago and they touched up some of the paint chips on the front. This car is NOT perfect, however it is about as nice as possible for a car that is driven on the public streets. 1 very small hail dent on the roof (not very noticeable), and another small ding on front fender (again not noticeable).

To recap: This car has had new paint, subframe bushings, Full 60k, clutch job and tires in last 10k miles. It is not perfect and could use suspension work as well as new A/C. Fixing the driver seat, cracked dash and broken button EATC would make the interior look mint!

I have a brand new old stock valeo clutch kit I bought from a forum member for $300 plus a new ceramic throwout bearing $100 I will include with the car. I was going to put them in but found they were not needed.

The car also doesn’t have a battery in it, so I will include a new one before the new owner takes possession.

Police Grill and Original both painted to match and will be included with car. I will NOT sell this seperately.

Price - $5,500 Negotiable. I will throw in ALL of the parts I have left from my 92mtx that got T-Boned last year. Some of the parts include (Mostly rebuilt mtx tranny, Intake with dis, iac, etc., Maf, 50/50 seats, rod shifter, swaybars, dynmax catback exhaust, cv axles, slicers with good/matching blizzak snow tires). I am willing to do a trade - full or partial for a 2004+ minivan that has fold down seats or a 2000+ Tahoe that is decked out and in good shape. My needs have changed (wife & kid) and my garage is a tiny 2 stall. I just don't have the time to finish this car and enjoy it the way it should be and I do need a newer, safer, automatic daily driver for the family.

While I know you can get a 91+ for $300 that is rusted out and has twice the miles I don’t care to hear about it in this thread.

IT IS LIKELY THIS IS THE NICEST Black/Black 91+ left in the country.

On to the pics:

I have bought and sold a LOT of SHO's, on this forum and elsewhere. I am glad to see the prices coming up in the last few years. If you are as firm on your price as you say, I would suggest fixing those things /\ /\ /\ as it will certainly help you get closer to your asking price.

Also, some pics in the actual ad go a long way to attracting interest. That way, every time a potential buyer checks on the thread, he will be reminded of how nice the car looks, without having to click on another link. Sounds petty, but it can go a long way. FWIW, I was able to snag a very mint 89 off this forum for a great price, and a lot had to do with the fact that the sale ad had no actual pictures, only links.

Beautiful car:dribble:

I hope my car doesn't need a paint job soon, but when it does, black will be the color!

agreed. Kudos to you for keeping it as stock as possible, but those things need to be fixed in order to get asking. With those things fixed i think thats a solid price- glws.

I just checked out the car last night & talked to the owner. I can attest to this car being in very nice shape. The car truly has absolutely no rust anywhere. The vehicle has been detailed with a fine tooth comb inside and out. There are no fluid leaks. The tear in the driver's seat is quite minor and I'm sure a good upholstery shop could fix it. The crack in the dash splits off the defrost vent & is very minor (very fixable). The car is truly in nice shape just out of my price range. Good luck with the sale Brandyn!

Same here.. I shouldn't have looked at this. And by the looks of prices lately I sold both of mine at a bad time haha. They are shooting up!

Thanks for coming by, checking out the car, and talking SHO's! If the car doesn't sell by end of next month I will likely keep it and make it my daily driver. As much as it will **** me to wreck it driving in the winter there are alot more important things in life...

Nice car!

It's good to see more SHO owners placing value on their vehicles and not seeing them as a throw away thrill.

Goodluck with the sale! :omgsho:

bump. Will likely drive the car to work a few days this week. It has been in the garage under the cover since end of last fall...
