Ok this is a really stupid question. But I cannot for the life of me find the transmission dipstick or the place to add transmission fluid on my MTX 89' SHO. :salute:

There's no dipstick, so don't worry about not being able to find that. :thumb:

There's a fill plug about halfway up the front of the case with a square detent so that it can be removed with a 3/8" drive, just like a fill plug for a live axle differential. And, like many axles, the old fluid needs to be pumped out and then new fluid put in up to the bottom of the fill hole.

A common mod is to drill and tap the bottom of the case for a drain plug. If you're lucky somebody has already done this mod for you and there's a drain plug.

If not, it's still not that bad to just pump out the old fluid if you want to refresh it. FWIW, the fluid in an MTX seldom needs to be changed on a street-driven SHO.

Hehe, that's not a stupid question..... I could not find it either and my auto teacher told me it was under the car so we lifted it up and loosened the plug and it started to leak out a little bit so he said that it was ok.
