Good day all,
I have been hearing new problem that I too am experiencing. On long trips, or more correctly, a long time in O/D, will cause trans fluid to leak, or POUR in my case, from the trans. I suspected the TCC was slipping causing more heat in the trans, so I by-passed the TCC. The TCC slipping was not the cause in my case because the trans did the same exact thing today, that it did a week or so ago, at the same EXACT distance of 35 miles (+/- one mile). It was like a switch this time... As soon as I hit the magic mileage, the trans started to pump the fluid out the torque converter seal, from what I could see of it.
I am requesting all the owners this has happened to, post their experiences with as much detail as they can... How many miles did it take... The outside temp at the time... was the trans rebuilt or not... any extra trans fluid coolers added... and anything else that will help me in this quest to find the cause and come up with a fix for it.
Thanks all!!
Bill
