I had my Tokico struts and Eibach springs installed along with new Ford rear strut mounts. I the question I have is, Has anyone else had a problem when you go over a dip in the road and you get a clunking noise from the rear when the suspension is compressed. It did not do this with the stock set up. I also replaced the sway bar bushings and links, the problem still remains. shrug

Clunking is not normal (at least not from my 95 MTX's standpoint it wasn't).

Did you replace everything (caps, etc.), or just the springs & struts?

Thanks for the replies, I don't know what you mean by caps? If your talking about the rubber strue mount bushing on top of the strut, yes they were replaced with new ones from Ford. I noise sounds like someone takes a hammer and hits the inside of the wheel well once when the car goes in to a dip in the road it makes no noise comming out of the dip or on flat roads.I does this on both sides depending on what side of the road the dip is in.

Did the shop install the rubber insulators on the bottom of the spring? I had to reuse my old ones. Glad they were still good.

Check your endlinks. They might have come lose, broke or mybe they were not torqued down.

Sounds like it might be your swaybar hitting.

I had a similar problem with my front sway bar. It was making a clunking sound in the right front wheel when I hit bumps. It ended up being the guys who did my clutch didn't tighten up my sway bar link on that side. It's worth a shot, go and check if they are tightened properly. Otherwise, there should be no noise coming from those struts and springs.

Yeah, its not the fault of the struts or springs as I have the same set up. I did replace the stock coil spring isolators with poly isolators from Energy Suspension and am very glad I did, much much better, and should last 100 years.
