Looking to get a new set of tires. Normally go to Discount Tire cause of the lifetime rotation/blanace on the tires. What do you all recommend for around here? Any places with the best prices, or free rotation/balance? Somewhere around the Milwaukee area or nearby. Or Somewhere on the way to Hartford.

Going to go with 225/60/16 or 225/55/16. Any input on which is best? (Obviously V-rated and I would like all season.)

I am in need of tires sooner than later as the tires I have now are not doing so hot with the snow.

But, do you need new tires now?

If not, a better option would be to get another set of wheels and put proper snow tires on them, and in that case, I'd go a little narrower, to the 215/60/16 stock size.

The tires have not been great for the snow this season. They are all season but I think since narrowly missing a deer and sliding side ways on the freeway(this happened around summertime a few years ago) + wearing from driving they are worse. I am at school next semester and I didn't plan on driving at all if there was snow on the roads so I could get by without driving and hold off on tires till spring. But I probably should just get them now and I am trying to find the best place around here to do so.

You can try talking to justin at lake country allignment.. or sam and terry at lake country tire. Both are pretty good and have reasonable prices. Those two shops are in the oconomowoc area.

I get my tires from tirerack.com who lists their local approved installers around the US; they will ship to you or directly to the shop; same thing as if you bought from the shop with lifetime balance rotation, etc.. Hard to beat their prices.

^X2, Tirerack or another online discount tire store, then find an industrial tire supplier and negotiate with them for the mount/balance/etc...

I got a place in Chicago that will mount/balance for $10/tire!
