It's about time for some new tires, and i've got it down to two choices.
Hankook K106's- http://www.discounttiredirect.com/d...cf=false&sw=false&cs=225&pc=11796&rd=16&ar=55
Falken Ziex 512's- http://www.discounttiredirect.com/d...cf=false&sw=false&cs=225&pc=28741&rd=16&ar=55

I currently have the K106's on the car, and I really like them. But I have heard excellent reviews from the 512's. And now that they have dropped the price(was 90 a tire) they seem abit more appealing.

Guess im looking for some feedback from the guys running the 512's.

And for that matter, if anyone is running any of the tires on this page http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/searchTiresBySize.do?sw=false&cs=225&ar=55&rd=16 (aside from the BFG's) please comment on them. Those continental's look decent for the price. But mainly just looking for info on the 512's...
TIA

Well between the two I would go with the 512's hands down. I have heard many good things about them and there very cheap for what you get. A buddy of mine just put them on his '05 Legacy GT and went from a 205/55r16 to a 235/40r18 and the ride is soooo much better and quieter. I almost didn't believe him but went for a ride and sure as sh*t they are. I've only heard/seen one downfall with them, that is they don't last that long.....

However, I've been 'dealing' with tires for quite a while now and don't know why but some cars/people have totally different results than others. I honestly think it has most to do with the model/make of the car itself and its engineering, how it's maintained/set-up, and how you drive on them......

For example my father has an '02 Outback and replaced the factory Potenza RE92's [which he loved!] with the Firestone Affinity LH30's [much cheaper $$$], which I think is an excellent all-season all-around tire. Well they made soooo much noise after only 6k miles he had me take them off and paid the extra $$$ to get new RE92's back on. He is super **** about maintenance and so forth so it was the tires and nothing else.....

For the Conti Extremes once again I've heard people that will buy an extra set just incase they stop making them, and others that hate them [so you're on your own with that one]. One tire I really like are the Yokohama AVS ES100's, performance tire to the max and not too expensive compared to some......

I think tires are be like a relationship; sometimes it works out great and sometimes it could be better.....:nut:
