I did the top and front 60k on my car about a 1000 miles ago and in the proces I replaced my timing belt tensioner. Recently my car was making funny noises and it turns out the timing belt tensioner had come loose. I followed the instructions in the service manual regarding rotating the engine twice before tightening the tensioner belt down but when I started my car it ran like SHIT. It idled SUPER rough and was reving all over the place, and the timing belt was really loose between the cam pulleys. Before it was really tight. My only guess is that I may not have loosened the tensioner enough when I rotated the engine the two times. Any other ideas?
