Throttle gets stuck!

hey guys, my 99 sho just had a VERY NEEDED coolant flush @ ~ 85,000 miles, i advise you to check your own.
My problem is my throttle gets stuck when the engine is cold. it idles fine but the pedal is hard as a rock, so you have to use alota pressure to break it free, then you end up flooring it unintendedly and end up doing a smoky burnout out of parking lots. I can live with it, but if theres a way to fix it, that would be great.
What should i check/do first?

Pull your intake hose off right before you throttle body and look inside at the butterfly valve. All of the black carbon that you see built up on the throttle bore and the butterfly needs to go away. It will make a ring around the butterfly and cause a stiff pedal when you first push down on it. Some throttle body / induction cleaner and a rag will work well. Just use your fingers to get in there. If it is really built up, I sometimes use a plastic brush bottle cleaner. I do not recommend anything abrasive.

Easy 1 beer fix.

No, i am not welded yet, know anyone in CT that does? i dont beat the **** outta my car, i use it to get to school and work... my next mod will be intake/ exhaust.

How the car is driven has nothing to do with the potential for cam failure. Every time the motor runs it's at risk, some fail with low miles, some fail with high miles, and some fail everywhere in between. I suggest reading up on the problem further at http://www.v8sho.com A modded intake an exhaust generally look a little less special when the car is parked with a dead motor!

ive heard it all, quite honestly, im not convinced that my cam sprockets will fall apart for no reason, if it can be done for under $100 bucks and not take more than a day, id consider it to be on the safe side. i appriciate the heads up, but by the time i learned of the cars reputation, i was already stuck with it. so far however, i have been happy with it so far i guess. would it be better to have the sprockets pinned?

You are opening a mighty big can here. My elderly owned, woman driven 96 failed at 83k. She did not even know what secondaries were.

listen, ill take care of what i have to do thanks for the warning, I DONT HAVE $700! if the piece of **** craps out, ill drive my mark VII and participate in the class action suit. i believe this thread was about my stuck throttle, so unless you have a comment on it, im done talking about my cams. ill get to it one day. id have to get a fund raiser to protect my car since the only shop in new england charges $700, plus im 18, i work, go to school, and have no time for garages. i will ask a friend of mine who owns a shop if he will do it,

The answer to your question about the throttle sticking is covered above -- you need to clean the ridge of carbon that has accumulated in the bore of the throttle body around the throttle plate.
