ok, I have been advised (dont know how reliable) to clean out my throttle body. (to possibly solve my slosho problem)
What do you all think?
Also, NAPA has a tune up kit for $58.
Any suggestions/ input is greatly appreciated!

clean the TB all you want. I've yet to see one that needed rebuilding, except for one left outside in the boneyard for a couple of years.

We've found less hesitation on cars & better throttle response with a clean intake. Remove & disassemble the intake, and use the $58 toward the $45 FelPro gasket kit from Autozone (intake manifold set, MS9XXXX; I forget the exact number - it's here on the forum in the search, I'm sure).

A bad throttle position sensor would be a more likely culprit I think than a dirty TB plate.

In any case, best of luck.

A dirty throttle body is usually only going to give you a surging or rough Idle as the seal is not even, but it's still letting air in when it's open.

I'm sorry... it is not a rebuild kit, but a TUNE-UP kit.

The throttle body is not the problem. Redo the intake and you can see exactly what is causing some problems. Check Shotimes for the IAC clean up procedure, too.

I love Berryman's B12 for cleaning the intake manifold and throttle body. After using this I will not use anything else.

Any "tune up kit" for the SHO engine would most likely be bogus and not worth the money. You would really have to detail the contents of teh kit for any substantive comments.

well, the kit mainly consists of gaskets and seals. NO hardware.

hmmmmm, I was wondering the same thing. I called the NAPA guy and he was NOT very informative. All he told me is what I posted 2 posts ago. I am not very mechanically inclined, so I just took him at his word

off the post:
Scott, I see you have a 73mm maf, Ebay has it for $115... is that a good price, and is it = to the 80mm? Is it worth the $?
