Quiet night. We just got on I-80, getting off at the next exit, less than 10 miles. It was after midnight, we were relaxed listening to some good music, and driving easy. On the eastbound, not a car in sight ahead or behind so I let the speed drop to around 50 mph. I heard a quick bleep on the detector and in my mirror saw a car doing a U. State trooper pulled me over. You guessed it, got pulled over for GOING TOO SLOW!

Im guessing you got pulled over because they figured youd been drinking if you were going that slow.

Result in ticket or just jaw flapping?
After going back to check my license and carry permit, he came back and never looked at my registration or insurance and walking away said "this is a warning". I had to ask "warning for what?" He answered going too slow. 45 mph is the minimum on I-80 in Indiana and I might have fluctuated under 50 not thinking that analog speedometers tend to read a little high, not low. So, it's possible I hit below 45 for a second.

That's most possible. It's the first thing he asked. We had not and I answered "not at all". I sped up when he got behind me as I never intended to hinder traffic and told him that. He's probably writing the same story on a trooper's forum.

Ha! Sounds to me like he was on a fishing expedition.

Although there are statutes in most Midwest states for a minimum speed limit, never have heard much as to actual enforcement there of.

Anyhow, ever have an occasion to be in the I-80 / I-355 area (obviously on the IL. side) and need a pitstop for w/e reasons, LMK. I'm close.

Not to deviate to far from topic, but I recently watched "For The Love of Spock" which was a documentary on the life of Leonard Nimoy.

Very interesting, enjoyable program.

Sounds like a good interaction overall and nothing to complain about. Too bad more traffic enforcement stops didn’t have the same outcome.

I actually thought about about you, BPD, last weekend as I was speeding up I-355 for a trip to ikea. I figured if I got pulled over I’d just drop your name. ;)

I donated to that project years ago and never had time to watch it when they sent me a link.
