The big phillips screws are pretty solid, and I fear I may be drilling these out. As far as I can see, there is no other way to get that door lock arm outta that hole in there, without pulling out the entire assembly out of the rear door? I have it loose from the rivet, actually pried it outta the clip, so I can snap the new one into place, but I can't get that damn arm out. Anyone else replace these before? Did you have to take it all out to do this?

It's not clear which screws you are referring to, but on heavy load Phillips screws, I use a Phillips bit in a 1/4" socket and use one hand to push the bit into the screw and the other to take advantage of the leverage from the 1/4" drive wrench to twist the screw loose.

You might want to try using a #3 Philips bit in those screws. #2 will never grip like it needs to.

Well, thats what I was also wondering. The one I have is big, but not really sure what size it was. Now your gunna make me check.. lol lemme go see.. well I thought it would say on it, but it only says China.. lol :( I'll see if I can't find a larger one at work today. Might be a #2, just not sure.. a little larger than a bic pen, not quite a sharpie. if that helps with size.. :)
