Murph did not say THE greatest race...he said ONE of the greatest.

Actually, before the edit, I thought it said the greatest, which is why I commented as I did. No critisism, I have not even seen the vid. I just can not imagine how a 14.0 vs 13.0 makes for a compelling video. Guess I will watch and see.

I have taken a lot of video and I have spent a lot of time putting it together and providing them to public forums...it's not easy, but you know what? It's really cool when people say thanks. It really sucks when some ******** points out something they would have liked to see differently...go out and do it yourself sometime.

You know who else spent a lot of time on the video? The 2 drivers. They did nearly all, if not entirely all, of their own work and paid for it, too. So what if they were spinning? So what if their times weren't great. Those of you who do not own blown vehicles have NO idea what it's like to try your best on a sanctioned track against a fellow enthusiast. You want to make a good showing, but instead make a few mistakes all the while knowing full well it's simply for the fun and maybe a few hours of bragging rights.

Once again, you act like i told him his video sucked, which i didnt, i merely said it would've been nice to see times. Its like, someone coming up to you and saying "nice car, but it needs rims" are you gonna get ****** off at him for it? if you would, you need to get some stuff worked out. honestly, am i the only one who thinks the reperation for what i said was a little overboard? if so im sorry. When i said that i didnt think it was all that good of a race or whatever i said, im not gonna go back and quote it, i was mad at the time. I think if it were you, you would've reacted the same way, its like i tossed a pebble at somebody, and got hit with a boulder for it.

It was a good race, it was a good video. What i meant by that, is SHOs are not quartermile cars, its where they're the weakest. For me, it was an entertaining video, but the only thing the quartermile could prove between those cars is whos better at feathering the pedal to keep from completely losing traction.

I think the WHOLE ordeal between me murph TY, etc. should be deleted from this thread. People are paying more attention to the arguement then the video and thats not what i wanted, i didnt want any of this. Sorry to everyone on the forum thats had to sift through all this BS.

I can't believe this thread hasn't been closed yet.
And I agree, SHO's are terrible 1/4 mile cars. So why do they have drag races at the convention? 13 second 1/4's are boring to watch. I might watch 2 or 3 drags and leave before it gets too hot outside. I have no desire to race in the 1/4. For what? A low 15 second time?

If they didn't do drag racing at the convention they could get more track time on the road course. Or orginize a rally of some kind. I'm with gas it on this. Plus bracket racing on the drag strip is sooooooooo boring. Point of drag racing is who can get to line 1st.

I might have said that and posted it but changed it quickly once I reread. You probably read that on the post email notification.

Again it isn't the times. The race wasn't decided until the last few hundred feet. Tony and Josh were neck and neck at the 1/8th.

The set-up:

You have Josh holding the fastest 1/4 time and who has always had the fastest SHO on the drag strip at previous conventions vs. Tony who from all his races deems to be a solid challenger to knock off the top dog.

You have the two fastest SHOs going at it during the convention for a dead stop. Hard to argue it wasn't a great race regardless of what the little piece of paper says.

As Tony said Josh is a great guy and it was fun watching the banter between them at the convention. Next year should be very interesting!!

Sorry Tim we all missed you there. I was wanting a rematch with you.

(ps Brett and I are cool. Things settled in PM where it should have been in the first place. My bad on that.)

See now, when you build it up with a few choice words, it makes the race sound that much better. Perhaps this little excerpt, along with a disclaimer about the battery dying, posted at the time the race vid was linked, would have settled all this banter before it even got started. When you put it that way, then yes, the intensity and anticipation is palpable. Makes you feel invested in what is about to happen. So I digress, good vid! (just a side note, Josh's posted times fall short of two other SHO's whose slips I have seen).

Yeah, it sucked not being there, seeing as I have been telling you guys how great the conventions are, and this was your first one. Michigan is not too far, so I hope there is a strong TX contigent next year. As far as the drag strip next year, I can tell you for sure that a 13.0 is not going to cut it. You guys had better bring a LOT more to the table if you want to embarass the original turbo SHO!!

well I'm talking about the posted time slip of a SHO that has been and is still on the road. Anybody can slap on a huge ass turbo, 250 shot and make one sizzling pass then go boom. Sorry sorry we didn't give an exact detail description of the race, why the battery died and so on. If you are a ******** SHO guy then you know this was a big race between two top dogs.

yeah yeah I hear you talking about racing but I don't see you moving.

Last time I raced an SC SHO I beat it!!! FWIW, how many times has the turbo SHO been to Texas, 2-3? ALong with the other 3-4 times I have come down with my NA SHO's. You need to get Tony and Murph to come up to OK once in a while. I'll even pay for the dragstrip!

I had a great time watching the video, and it was even better in person. I was verry happy to meet Tony and Murph. I have the up most respect for both of them, and they are both really nice guys! I have known Josh T. for a few years, and think he's awesome. I hope one day to also be a contender in the ongoing battle of the top dog.

This should go down as the most trivial treatment of a relatively benign posting.

NOt that anyone gives a shit about my opinion but giving folks the benifit of doubt without assumptions tends to yield more productive results.

Thank you for sharing the vid, sure wish I could have been there to witness it myself.

I'll expect to see a rematch and much more at the Zoo in 07!

Yeah, it would be fun to see you guys race at a strip. Tony vs Murph vs Tim vs Chris vs whoever else shows up. That's the ticket....
