Come one, Come all to the great mnshoc tech meet.

Date: 4/25/2009
Time: 10am-Whenever.

For anyone considering coming from out of town, you are welcome to crash here if needed. I do have some extra room, i also have a camper i could set up if need be.

For food and beverage, i will have some pop, most likely pepsi. If you want something else, please bring it. I can dogs and burgers for the meal, if some would like to pitch in and bring some food to pass that would be great.

Hopefully we can get some good weather for that day!

(time is flexible if anyone wants to go a bit later)

If we want to, U Pull R Parts is about a 15 min drive from my place. We could have a junk yard bash as well that day. I have a jumper pack too, so we could test window motors before we pull them. Im not sure if they allow that or not though.

Ha I just cleaned my drivers side rear door window motor last weekend it would not even move with all the crap that was gummed up on it but it works now with all new grease. So If you want to just clean and put in new grease I am quite familiar on how to do that little project.

You will need two very small flat head screw drivers and a small Snap Ring plyers and some Lithium Grease. And new door clips because more than likely they will be junk just to save yourself the trip there again when you realize the door panel is not gonna stay on.

I will bring a Taco Salad and some Chips and maybe some Coors Light.

Should we bring extra tools to work on multiple projects simultaneously?

see how many SHO's we can get to have 4 working windows.

Mine all work now after last weekend...

They are all different, but SLO's should be the same in case anyone was actually wondering? We could get an assembly line going.

id be in for a window motor swap meet, see how many SHO's we can get to have 4 working windows.
I'm out, I have 3 that all four work, atleast last time I checked.

That's what I did to one of mine, except it was about 10 yrs. ago. One of My dr. door may need it soon, started getting very slow this winter, but seems better the warmer it gets, so may be good for awhile yet.

It really shouldn't be a problem.

The crap that was in there was so nasty! I might just go ahead and ah do the rest of them soon. Kinda of a pain but boy what an excuse to escape from the wife and kid for a few hours and have a few beers!

Im not sure if it would work after a cleaning or not. There is no voltage dip when you hit either button for that window, so im not sure if the motors even trying or not.

Mine did not even move or make a sound when I would hit the button nor a drop in voltage. But after taking it out and removing all the old hard crusty grease and cleaning and then regreasing it the motor works fine. It's not the fastest but hey at the very least it goes up and down now I'm happy with it.

I feel terrible for even bringing this up, who can help me with rod bearings. I am a total noob when it comes to this and would desperately need help. It doesn't need to happen on this date just need help soon. Also my rear drivers motor is inoperable go figure... if anyone is willing to help I can treat dinner or beer etc whichever you prefer...

Why feel bad? We are all here to help each other. I have never done rod bearings but I know Joe has and i'm not sure how long it takes. But we have all summer right?

All 4 of mine work lol. A new window motor is 59 bucks. I suggest the dorman one. Really nice motor for the money. Window motors are uber easy to do.

Yep, I can barely remember doing mine it was so long ago, but I can remember what the gunked up insides looked like as if it was only a couple weeks ago.
