I am finally getting around to putting the rear struts and spindles back on my car. I had to remove the spindles as the strut pinch bolts snapped and getting them out on a bench vise was somewhat less of a f'in PITA than doing it on the car. The passenger side swing arm slipped off the spindle bolts with just an average amount of sledgehammer persuasion. The driver's side was a different story. I had to beat it like a red headed step child. On the forward side, the inner bushing sleeve came with the spindle bolt apparently welded to it.On the rear side it came appart easier, but, the bolt has some pretty deep corrosion on it. It is now noticably thinner than the others. I tried beatijng it out to replace it. I even heated it with mapp gas and squirted it with kroil (better than pb blaster ever thought of being). Still no go.
Will more heat/kroil/cursing/beating get it out? Or are they rusted in for good?It is original, I guess. 93, northern car. I would also like to do the swing arm bushings. Are they replaceable? I did a search and couldn't find anything.
Thanks.
