No, in a front wheel drive application the best handling is usually acheived with a larger rear bar. Most people I've read about seem to like either the 23mm or 26mm rear bar, and keep the stock front bar, although some folks like a 19mm front bar for autocrossing.

There's some good info on this site, although most of it seems to be Gen I/II specific: http://www.panix.com/~awinbow/sho/suspension.html

A 19mm front and 26mm rear will give you oversteer. A 24mm front is a good balance with the 26mm rear (that's the setup I have).

Is the 26mm rear the stock size? I just need to know that one looking at a 24mm on ebay but not sure what the rear bar size is.

Do you not like oversteer!?

:) Most people are not fond of over steer. Leaving the front stock at 22mm and putting a 23mm on the rear ended up being the combination I liked best for neutralizing the steering across a wide speed range, but I also have added the strut tower brace, which provides a lot of stiffening of the overall box. With that change, when I had the 26mm rear on the back end became too loose. Though some people like the back to do that, if you are doing a lot of high speeds on winding back roads that are not always smoothly paved and maintained, it can be a problem.
