I've been doing some looking around on the forum and I can't really tell which are better: plastic or metal. I found the moog metal ones from oreileys for $80 for both and plastic ones from auto zone for $50. THe plastic ones seem like they have alot of play in them. Are they supposed to twist? Anyway's I'm at a loss and don't know which ones to get. Any suggestions?

Skip the plastic ones from AZ.

My second set is already making noises after 13 months which, coincidentally, is how long the first pair lastred. Only a three month warranty. AutoZone has really gotten stingy with the LLT warranties...

Is that 65.04 for both sides or just one? I really hope it's for both.

Exactly. I've heard nothing good about the plastic end links. I just installed a set in November on someone else's vehicle, so we'll see how they hold up (installed because it was all I had  )

i just got the ones (windstar aluminum) from josh at shonut, they were around $45 for both (i think) and i highly recommend buying the bolts you'll need two kits for 4 bolts cause if your anything like me when you pull em off there won't be a whole lot left of the bolt. they've been on a total of 2 days with the AL SFBs and steering is a whole new world now

as a word of advice for changing them out the best way i found to do it is get a set of vice grips and lock them down on the nut and position them so they are up against something and then use a socket on the bolt but remember it'll be left for tight and right for loose doing it this way, but after the first one took over an hour the second one went on in like 10 minutes

If you decide to go with the plastic links, I would recommend using Ford links, not aftermarket.

I have not had any trouble out of my OEM plastic links, it sounds like there may be a quality difference between OEM and aftermarket.

Later,
Mike :)

I used the MOOG replacements when mine started making noises after installing AL SFB's. No noise now and they should last much longer as they are greasable and not plastic.
