Maybe a stupid question, but does the rear sway bar have to be removed to change the bushings?

im kinda lost... you said you want to install your 26mm, but you ask if it has to be removed...

To install the Sway bar bushings, you need just to remove the bolt from the clamp. Do so on both sides... this will allow you to pull the bushing off. The bushing has a slit in it so it will come off the bar with out having to remove the bar from the sway bar endlinks.

so your car has a 23 (im guessing) and you want to put a 26 in it? you have to pull the 23 out to put the 26 in... replace bushings then.

I remove the rear sway bar bushings to re-**** them, but I do it only one bushing at a time. If you remove both brackets together, the bar will fall and reinstallation will be somewhat tougher. Remove the 13mm bolt holding the clamp and then slide the split bushing off the bar. It helps to move the bushing to the inboard side of the mounting location before to allow it to clear the bar/frame interface. I
