Suspension improvements

OK, so I have a bit of wheel hop... not up and down, but front to back... in spite of it being traction related, it's NOT an issue of traction control because I have a PP SHO and I've totally disabled it and still get the effect with it either on, in sport, or with it fully off. Multiple local experts say I need to upgrade the suspension bushings from the stock rubber to polyurethane - that it will keep the wheel from travelling as far forward at WOT and losing traction from forward suspension travel toe-in. I can't seem to find a source for poly bushings for any late model Taurus. Does anyone know where I can get them custom made, or at least get a different control arm setup that would work for our cars while allowing me to use the stiffer poly bushings?

I watched a diy a month ago how to make your own. If I felt like doing it I would buy some used ones or find a crappy set for another car for practice first.

Interesting idea, to be sure... not sure if I trust my fabrication skills well enough yet to trust my DIY vital suspension component. I think I'd prefer an experienced shop or manufacturer, just need to know where to send my $$$.

Have you played with tire pressures at all? Verified the shocks/struts are not leaking?

That's pretty neat. I feel like you would want a jig setup on top to keep the center piece exactly where it should be located. Next time I go to replace my Jeep bushings I might give it a try.

Look up window weld polyurethane motor mounts.
It's been done thousands of times in the Import world.

OK, so someone just pm'd me asking if I'd ever gotten this issue resolved. I haven't. But here's the latest...

As some of you already know, I bought a Mustang Ecoboost this past fall. I had saved up about $2k to make some improvements to the SHO, but started autocrossing, and realized quickly how badly I needed a real tire setup... so I spent it on a tire/wheel package for my Mustang. Oh well. (I got the 19x9 Boss 302 wheels... they look sweet... and the Potenza RE71Rs are absolutely crazy sticky awesome... I want them all the time now!!! haha...)

That said, I did get better tires for the SHO, they're still all-seasons... and it did improve the amount of wheel hop noticeably. I bought Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s. It really made a difference, but didn't solve the issue.. That said, I suspect an even better tire... a summer tire specifically... Maybe the I-heard-they-were-glorious Pilot Sport 4s... or some sticky Nittos or ...the new DD street tires I got for my Mustang (Firestone Firehawk Indy 500) ...anything but Good Years lol... would actually truly fix it. But I've been too busy with Autocross to even think "drag strip"... I might actually skip this year.

NOT... Autocross takes a summer break, I'll hit the strip then haha...

Btw, me and my ex-G8 cronies think the 3 season Michelin sport AS3 tires are POS. I ran Cooper zeon they stuck like glue even in the rain. The sports would even break loose in 3rd in my G8. Tire gave my car wheel hop.

So it really could be a tire thing... amazing though how crappy the Good Year Eagle AS2 really were that came with the car since the Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s are that much better than them. They are getting really good reviews on Tire Rack FYI... were they the same as the sport AS3's you mentioned? These are the 3+ ...I honestly don't know if they're different... all I know for sure is that they're worlds better than the Good Years, especially in the snow which I never even noticed I was driving in this winter lol... but still not awesome compared to a sticky performance summer tire.

If I like the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 on the Mustang, if they hook like I'm hoping they will, I might get them for the SHO for summer... they're pretty cheap too!! I'd totally put the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ back on for winter though, they really were amazing in the snow - as little as we got this year.

If only Bridgestone made Potenza RE71Rs in our size and if only they have a tread pattern that wasn't prone to hydroplaning... I'd get them on all my cars. They're like glue - they hook amazing, and even more important, I can corner way, WAY faster on them... I really freakin' love those tires haha.
