Leaving work today, heard some noise like water moving around somewhere. 15 minutes later I put the brakes on kind of heavy and a bunch of water pours out of the map light area in front of the glasses holder on my 13' SHO. Anyone ever have this happen ?

Happened to me on 15 earlier this year. Couple days of heavy rain and water was coming through the map lights leaking over the center console and shifter. Took it back to the dealer since mine is under warranty still. At first they told me the leak was between the windshield and body. They resealed the windshield and said it was good to go. 2 days later I get out of work on a day it had been raining all afternoon and it was leaking again. Took it back to the dealer and they ended up replacing the whole moonroof. Been dry as a bone since then. I asked the service manager if it was a known issue with the Taurus and they said no. Not sure if he was giving me a line of BS, but it didn't seem like it.

Just took it to the dealer today. Blocked drains. And by the way. If anyone is from the central jersey area. All American ford wanted to charge me 130 dollars to unclog the drain even though it still under warranty. They are terrible

I just had my 2010 in for the same reason...$1,200.00 later ...Its the four (4) drain line in the sun/moon roof. They are clogged; so water backs up and gets into the interior and behind dash. couple months back we had a lot of rain for 2.5 weeks straight. I notice water sloshing around behind the dash, no air coming from vents (hear or air), foggy windows, water leaking from all four doors and interior carpet completely saturated.

Remedy: replace interior environmental filter, remove dash and all carpeting and seating. Run fans and let care dry-out for 3 days...re-assemble..

CHECK THOSE DAMN DRAIN LINES....

How do you check/clean the lines? I think I might have opened the sunroof 2 times since I've owned the car.

Majestic, Dealer told me to open sun/moon roof locate the four (4) drain holes in each corner of the opening. Get a (and I quote) can of air o_O....compressed air used to clean computers and a long straw. Remove any sediment around the drain area, insert straw and blow -out the drains...then flush with water...dealer had a squeeze bottle with a tube attached...repeat as necessary....you should see water ponding underneath the car if the drain line are clear...

As for frequency of opening the sun/moon roof? I rarely use mine and the car is in the garage every night. the dealer told me it doesn't matter how often the roof is open. Eventually the drain lime will get clogged..Hmmmm sounds like a design flaw to me.

I vacuumed three gallons of water from my driver side floor this weekend. Mine was caused by these drains in the wiper trough being full of pine needles, leaves, and what-nots.

Insert Panel Drain Hose - Ford (5F9Z-7401523-AA)

I'll be adding these to the spring cleaning checklist...

Up under the door seals is little weep holes hiding. They usually get clogged up too. I just had water come out of my roof light so its time to clean the sunroof weepholes also lol

I heard sloshing in my car, but no interior fire suppressing system kicked in. Turned out that one of my back doors was holding about two or three gallons of water. The rubber door seal at the bottom of the door was blocking the drain.

Old thread.... I recently fixed this issue on a friend of my son's Fusion. Ran some edge trimmer line all the way from the drains to the ground. Followed that with compressed air and then pumped some WD40 down the drains. She hasn't had any problems in the 90ish days since we did this. The dealer charged her $150 prior to that and it clogged up within two weeks.

I had a passenger with me one time after a heavy rain, took a corner and my car peed on her. Problem ended up being a kink in the rubber sun roof drain line behind the glove box, unkinked it and no more issues.

My driver side floorboard is soaked. First thought was the AC drain only because I noticed the water after a week of no rain. But it stormed on Friday and where my Apillar met my headliner there was water dripping. I assume a sunroof drain is clogged. I have the PC cleaning cans of air. And I plan on getting a syringe to inject some water. See if it works
