I'm going to be putting new tires on my car this spring and am looking for suggestions. They will be going on 16" Team Dynamic Motorsports and have to be stock size or very close to. These will be used Spring to Fall as I have snow tires on my slicers. Right now I am considering the Yokohama AVS dB, Dunlop A2 Sport, Pirelli P6000 Sport Veloces. I am looking for high or ultra high performance all seasons, that are a good price, good durability, good performance. Thanks guys

For what you want in a tire, I think the BFGoodrich KDWS is going to be impossible to beat. I've had them for six months or so, and I have no complaints thus far. The tires aren't stellar in the snow, but as long as I don't go too fast I have no problem at all. The tires have seen an autocross... they GRIP!! The treadwear is phenomenal as well (400). I guess they didn't use a soft compound... rather they used a harder, more elastic compound, for high grip and high durability as well. Definitely an awesome tire!

Well tires are really you get what you pay for mod. It depends on what you really want. I sold out for performance. Bridgestone RE730s are what I recently switched to and I can say that they also are really grippy. And if you don't have a problem with 300 treadwear, they are a good choice. Good luck. I got mine off of tirerack.com for $500 for a set... thumbs_u

I just noticed those on tirerack and have become interested in them. How is the durability of them? Does the tread wear away quickly? Also will I notice much of a difference on the speedometer, gas mileage, etc going from 215/60/16 to 225/55/16? Thanks

It may depend on your car, but my speedo was actually dead on with the 225/55-16 on 7.0" rims while being off somewhat with the stock 215/60-16 on the slicers. I really like the SP5000's, as have several other. Do a search and read some of the comments, it's been hashed out a couple of time before.

I have been running the Toyo proxes T1-s and they are great.....although now I see you need an all season tire like snow....so I'd go with the KDWS's

Actually snow isn't a problem because I have Firestone Winterfires on the slicers for the winter. Are there any websites that have the Toyos? I'd like to look at them and get a price. Thanks

I checked them out, but they are more than I am looking to spend and the treadware rating seems to be a bit low. Right now I am considering the Dunlop SP5000 and the BFG KWDS.

If you have snow tires already, why even consider the KDWS when the KDW will perform much better for only $18 more?? As for Dunlop, you'll be happier with the SP8000 over the 5000's. Those are $117 in W speed rating(186).

if you dont need all seasons, i would go with Falken GRB fk451's. they have a double a traction, awsome handling, and are good in the rain. i have them (17" size) and im very happy with them.. they arent too expensive (most can be had for 100 or less each). i may put them on my stang too but their only drawback is a 280 treadwear rating.

Actually I would rather have all seasons because they are slightly cheaper, usually have a better treadwear rating, a little safer in rain and the occasional freak New England snow in April. Thanks for your suggestions guys.
