I was looking on shox.com earlier and I noticed a brand of strut called "Sachs". Has anyone ever used or heard of these; good or not?? I got a price quote on them and they are $239 for a set of 4, which is only about $50 more then the KYB's. Do you think that they are better quality than the KYB's, because I have read on here that usually with lowering springs, the KYB's blow out after 2 years!! If not, would it just be wiser in the long run to pay twice the amount for Tokico's or Koni's?

If you can afford it you will always be better off just getting Tokikos or Konis. I think there are some applications where KYB makes a perfectly fine strut. For the SHO, they just don't provide enough dampening for anything much more aggresive than the stock springs. I haven't heard anything about the SACHS struts for the SHO. If nobody comes forward with any insight into whether they're OK or not I would just avoid them completely and plan on getting either Tokicos or Konis depending on what your preference (and what spring you're going to use).

I think the general consensus is pretty much as follows:

For Intrax springs you will always want to go with Konis.
For Eibach springs most people choose Tokicos, although some people want to use Konis instead.

When I can afford it I'll probably be one of those people using Eibachs and Konis.

That's what I thought. However the aftermarket replacements may or may not have the correct dampening rate vs the oem version.
If you are planning a better strut, perhaps you should consider a better spring as well and have everything done at once.
