Just a quick question. Are spring compressors needed to remove old assem's
from the vehicle or just take the weight off the suspension? Thanks. :hpoop:

Nope. The whole strut and spring assembly will come out without having been compressed. I use a long (6 ft) pry bar to pull the spindle down to get the strut out.

You only need the spring compressor to disassemble or reassemble the spring/strut assembly. You can take the spring/strut assembly out of the car without the spring compressor, you just can't take them apart safely without it.

I love big prybars, they get the job done....and if it doesn't, get a bigger prybar
