So I put a new tire on the passengers side front , it is the same size as all the other tires P225/60R/16 well it is rubbing up against the bottom of the strut the bump stop I call it but its the metal piece on the bottom of the strut just below the spring. I have also noticed that steering is sluggish and I am thinking this is due to strut rod bushing I have no money so I am trying to figuer out a somewhat safe way to jimmy rig it by making a bushing out of a hockey puck just for the time being I know that I need to weld something bnut dont know what and to be honest have no clue as to what even needs to be welded> washer to subframe weld on the inside of the subframe or on the outside of the subframe.

It's rubbing because the tire's too big. Stock size is 215/60/16. If you want to have 225 width, you have to go with a lower aspect ratio. I have 225/55/16s and they fit fine.

strut rod bushings will not cause poor steering conditions

they basically have nothing to do with the steering system, they help locate the front knuckle in relation to the front and rear of the vehicle.........

bad steering could be a number of things, anything that turns could be binding up, strut mount bearing, ball joints, and out tie rods..........

it could also be a bad rack and pinion, or improper fluid pressures on the hydraulic side of the power steering system

I STRONGLY disagree with that statement. You should have seen the TPR Bushings on my track car, They were PANCAKED in to the subframe. After They were replaced, The steering feel was 20x's better. There is less play in the wheel and it is a lot more responsive.

Yeah, don't use hockey pucks as strut bushings, the hockey pucks aren't going too last long, you are throwing money down the toilet, save it and go to Advance Auto Parts, O'rielly, or maybe even AutoZone spend 20.00 and get the Energy Suspension strut rod bushing kit that has the strut rod bushings and LCA (lower control arm) bushings. I have the part number, not on me at the moment, will get it to you soon. Just replaced these on my SHO, good investment. :thumb: ;)
