Folks,

Any recommendations for a local NY (Westchester) based mechanic/shop that is SHO literate? I'm sure that my bushings are stock (96k), and I've not been able to rid a front vibration under medium braking. Responses to my other thread incate possible pads, (I've re-cut the rotors and they don't have many miles on them, nor are they warped)-other possibility is the strut rod bushings. I've looked at that bolt and it's a bigger job that I can handle.
Need recommendations, thanks in advance.

Any shop that has an air gun should be able to handle strut rod bushings, make sure the collar isn't broken though (if it is, it'll need to be welded while apart). I suspect that's not your problem though (unless it's the collar), but it'll help tighten the front end up.

The strut rod bushings may not be as snug as they once were, but that condition will not cause a vibration under braking. You have tried the first fix by having the front rotors turned. The problem is still likely to be the rotors. I would recommend replacing the used rotors with a new set. You can get workable rotors for $20 or $35 each at AutoZone.

Loose bushings don't cause a vibration. They can allow a vibration to be worse that it would be with a tight bushing, but it takes an imbalance or untrue rotating surface to cause the vibration in the first place.
