Putting in new struts/springs, got the drivers side one out now, but can't get the big nut at the top off. Just to make sure that I was trying to do this right, I put a 13/16 on the big nut, and a 10mm on the top and then take it off that way right? just like the sway bar links in the front? Because attempting it this way I snapped a craftsman ratchet and stripped the 10mm part with an impact wrench. headbang Then I tried cutting through the strut shaft with a sawzall, after trying 4 different kinds of blades and having them just slide around(the strut shaft was nice and smooth) I have determined that I need to use a grinder. Basically I just wanna know if i was trying to do this correctly because I don't wanna mess up the other side.
oh on a sidenote, the spring was sheared in half(yes 2 pieces) the top half was compressed and frozen like that, the bottom half had some spring in it but I could compress it with my hands(took a lot of force though)
