Hey guys, new to the forum and need some opinions. Im looking for a strut shock combo thats gonna give me a nice smooth bumpless ride. I did a search and found mostly people concerned with the lowered look.Im willing to spend a decent amount for a nice setup, I dont mean the best of the best but something nice. Any suggestions?

Did you want a performance type setup or just a comfortable ride? Did you want to replace the struts or the springs and struts? I think the Tokico's are a good compromise for this application. The only issue is availability. They seem to run in batches and gaps in supply have been known to occur. On a less expensive route maybe some KYB's.

well im leaning more towards comfort than anything else. It dosnt neccesary have to be a strut shock combo but from what ive been reading thats the best way to go.I very well could be wrong. Im just looking for a smooth ride so whatever would be the best option works for me. thanks!

All Taurus SHO's (all Taurus sedans in fact) use MacPherson struts on all four corners. There are no conventional shock absorbers.

If you're looking for ride comfort as your first priority, you should probably consider Monroe or Gabriel struts made for the standard non-SHO Taurus. They will also be the least expensive option.

Monroe struts huh, i hadnt even considered that option. What of Tokico's? Ive heard a lot of great things about them but are they more performance based then for comfort? Thanks for the input guys!

More for performance. Comfort brands have been stated. Most talk of springs and struts here are concerned with improved handling. Your stated needs are different.
