strut & knuckle problem

hmmmm....

with the pinch bolt removed, this has not been a problem as I recall. used a 6oz hammer to tap the knuckle from below.

make sure you have enough of the other suspension components loosened or removed to align the strut with the knuckle properly -- beyond that should be straightforward.

Easy... disconnect your sway bar link first... ;) Then put the jack under the strut to push it up so you can get the link back in the hole for the strut. :)

Sounds like your trying to put the knuckle onto the control arm, then push that up onto the strut. You need to put the knuckle on the strut first, then worry about getting it on the control arm.

I have cut intrax / tokiko's on mine, and its a little different... I always have to figure out how to get it back together some how. Always do it with a combination of a 4 foot peice of rigid pipe, and my floor jack.

Stick a peice of pipe, or a breaker bar o r something in there. I personally stick it in FRONT of where the LCA attatches to the frame, and leave it sticking out, up, and to the rear of the car. Then put my butt on it to pry the arm down to push the strut back in place.

I leave the LCA bolted to the subframe, and the strut rod, then put the strut / knuckle together, and push it back onto the ball joint / lca with a peice of pipe like I said. Then you just gotta fart around with the sway bar link. Otherwise your fighting the sway bar pushing it back into place on the balljoint.

Hope that makes sence.
