I was driving recently and on a take off i heard a loud clunk from the front left of my car. Now the steering wheel locks up when I turn halfway as far as it will go to the left, once i get it past that point it is ok, and before that point it is ok. It also only does it when im going over about 10-15 mph. I replaced my left CV axle thinking this might fix it but it didnt.

Also when i grab the tire at the front of it, I can shake it in and out a little.

what would cause this?

When you say in and out on the tire, do you mean the tire will wobble vertically or horizontally? Horizontal movement would mean the tie rod ends are bad, vertical movement means your ball joints are toast. As for the steering wheel locking up, does it completely lock, or just slightly lock and then you can keep turning the wheel?

Horizontal. and when i kick the tire hard enough in the front it clunks. So probably tie rod ends?

Doesnt lock completely , just partially, you can **** it loose.

the guy i bought it from said it had the subrame recall work done on it. also i had a clutch job done recently, the guy who did it probably would have noticed if i had a busted subframe mount right?
