SS lines + Brake bias

Where can I find the brake bias? The small block that replaces the switch we have with a full time (?) 60/40 Brake bias?

Also, I need stainless lines for the cobra to SHO brakes. Any ideas?

I'll try to answer your question. The brake "bias" valve is really a load switch which is located on the driver's side of the car, near the back. It's mounted near where the exhaust goes over the rear control arms.

The actual brake BIAS is controlled by the MC, and is fixed at the factory unless you run an aftermarket valve (not easy at all if you have ABS).

You can remove the pins from this valve and install blocking plugs which will give you full brake flow at all times.

I believe John H. runs the SHO Earl's Hyperflex lines in his car which has 13" front cobra brakes.

I was under the impression that SHO-nut was going to start making them. They may not be listed, but if you ask real nice I bet they'll turn over a set to you for some cash. Maybe it was IPT I was thinking of. I can't remember. I have a custom set made by a TechSHO list member.

I wonder if the plugs are in the same boat as the 96 rear brake upgrade brackets? Both products would very likely cause injuries/deaths and wrecked cars if used improperly.

The brake load valve is there for a reason and that's so if the back is too light the car won't spin out during heavy braking. If the plugs were put in (especially with non-abs cars) there could be serious complications during panic stops. The same goes for the rear 96 brake upgrade... larger rotors on the back means more stopping power and they would need larger rotors up front to compensate for the rearward shift in braking power.

Yes. This is a "track-only" mod, correct?

I'll be perfectly honest with all of you. I run the 26/20.6 swaybar combo on the street, and I have these brake bias plugs. Honestly guys, the car is not dangerous to drive. It's completely benign. If you stab the brakes coming onto an offramp at 80MPH the rear end will kick out. A touch of opposite lock (or, God forbid, throttle) will bring it back in nicely.

However, with the massive reduction in braking distance that these plugs afford (with '96 brakes up front) the "tradeoff" is well worth it. The car, on the whole, is much safer this way.

Take it from someone who has been driving around with these plugs longer than anyone.

as far as I know, there wont be a rear "kick out" if the rear brakes apply harder than the front, and will actually seem more stable.

In a curve? No way. More rear brake will set the rear end for a corner, and in extreme cases, cause it to slide.

The front brakes cause a weight transfer forward off of the (already light) rear end. The heavy bias of rear brakes uses up some of the remaining friction (think friction circle) and can cause the rear end to snap around.

What did you do to upgrade rear brakes?Is there a bracket allowing use of cobra calipers?
Also I'm going with the cobra brakes up front and I need 12" rotors, drilled/slotted.Anyone know where I can get these?
I need steering knukles too.I spent some time at a bone yard and I could NOT get these things off.
