Can a crankshaft that has spun bearing be salvaged or is it toast? There are not deep grooves on the journal but it definitely spun, as the bearings were smashed together and flattened. Need to know if I have a boat anchor or if there is hope?

I put in a new motor when this happened to me. I did not look at the crank, but it was making some real bad noises by the time that I was finished with it. It may be ground down at a machine shop, and you can use some oversize bearings.I opted for a new motor. I went 3.2L and love it. Not an easy thing to do, but with a little patience and a lot of beer, it can be done.
