Guys and gals, I changed my plugs in my SHO yesterday, and I could not believe what a difference it made. The car feels like it gained 20HP.
The old plugs did look bad, which I don't understand because they only had 45K miles on them. Aren't platinum plugs good for 60K miles?
Furthermore, after seeing how my plugs looked after 45K miles, I recommend to change them every 30K AND don't forget to put anti-seize compound on the threads.
Oh, by the way, I did them without taking off the intake. 1.5 hours

and changed them with the motorcraft's.

Exactly WHAT platinum plugs did you have in the car before? The single platinum plugs will definitely not last 60,000 miles. The Motorcraft AGSP32PP double platinum plugs SHOULD last 60,000+ miles in the SHO. If these were the plugs you had in the engine, there must be acid in your gas (kidding).

What is "anti-seize" compound, and what does it do?

Scott, he only has 45k on the car, and he said 45k on the plugs, so whatever came from the factory is what's in there.

Scott, I had the original plugs that came with the car and changed them with the Motorcraft AGSP32PP plugs.
Now what do you mean by Double platinun plugs? With the plugs I installed there is only one arc produced between the electrodes.

He means double Plat as in the Tip and electrode or whatever its accually called is platinum. So the power goes from Platinum to Platinum.

I thought this might be self-explanitory. It is usually a nickel graphite mixture that is applied to threaded fasteners to prevent them from rusting and seizing (sticking) in place. It makes it easier to remove them when the time comes. This is very important when you are talking about aluminum cylinder heads. You do not want to strip the threads in the cylinder heads when you are removing the spark plugs.
