1992 SHO 3.0 MTX white/black $600

Up for sale is my seventh, and probably last, 1992 SHO. I purchased this car about a year ago from another member here on the forum in slightly worse condition. Despite it's current condition where it's suffered my wrath via hammer the last time I worked on it, it had served me exceptionally well up until that point. The vehicle itself still runs and drives, and it does it just as well as it did when it was newer, I'm sure. The transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine most definitely pulls. The body, on the other hand, has suffered from a few things, including the aforementioned "hammer wrath." The driver's side door has a large enough gap in the seal to where you can see into the cabin, and there's typical rust beginning in the rear fender wells and just below the gas lid. Almost 200k and still tickin'.

Pros:
Interior could be rated at a 7 or 8 out of 10, at least. Though the car is a bit ugly, I took very good care of the interior. I always cleaned and conditioned all of the surfaces, including the full leather seats.

Still runs very strong, and is, remarkably, in one piece.

Comes with '95 knuckles and brakes up front.

Comes with a small handful of leftover parts, if interested!

Subframe recall kit on 3/4 of the mounts

Sunroof (pro if you like an exposed sky)

Never had any CEL's until the day my battery went kaput.

New front wheel bearings

Clear title in hand! (sorry, Tim)

Cons:
The driver's side door does not seal all the way, and you can peer into the cabin to see what kind of pants the driver is wearing. Think "Jeep."

Exterior has ten or so dings from the claw end of a hammer all around from a fit of blind rage when I my attempts to fix the gap in the driver's side door caused more damage to the fender.

Sunroof (con if you're a vampire)

Even though it never threw a CEL, it still threw codes. Mostly having to do with the o2's that need replaced.

Most definitely needs a tune up, as the gas mileage before parked was about 250 miles per tank. Terrible, from my experience. I'm also aware of the front main seal leaking.

Crack in windsheild.

Needs new tie rods and rear brakes.

Subframe is bent on passenger side from an accident.

Not too sure of rod bearing history.

Valve stem seals may need replaced, as I have noticed a tiny bit of blue in the exhaust when I had a friend start it up.

I had replaced a faulty EAC with one from a '95, but I think that caused the electronics to go funky, as the windsheild washer fluid motor stopped functioning, and the blower goes on maximum thrust when you actually turn the unit off.

I'm sure there's plenty of little things I could think of, but when I post updated pictures later tonight, I'll try and round them up. I know some of you may choose to critisize me for asking $500 for what may seem to be a Rolls Canardly, but I'm viewing it in the aspect that it is currently something that you CAN rely on/fix up/pull parts from. As mentioned before, it has done well and been incredibly reliable in a point in time where I was making 200 mile round trips every weekend for ten months straight, in addition to a 40 minute in-town drive five days out of the week. So serious offers are considered, but please don't waste my time with lowball offers or cheap forum banter. Though I know most everyone here proves this is definitely the kinder of all forums on the 'net! Thanks for looking.

haha, only if I can stay the night, do a wheel swap in the middle of the night in lake-effect snow on a snowy hill, and then have a 25hr trip home when it would otherwise be 13! Hahaha. It sounds like complaining, but it was one fun experience...after it was all said and done. But yeah, random pizza in a parking lot last summer, so I thought "photo op" haha.

It's a little bit of a drive for me... Do you think it would survive the 3.5 hour drive back here to Toledo?

You know, based on how it drove before the battery went bad and I parked it, I would almost swear that it would make a trip like that. The only adverse thing I could think of is maybe the coolant system because of the leak, but even then it barely leaked on me... I'd say that if you checked it about halfway through, it should do fine.

These are pictures that were taken just this morning. The driver's seat is the only seat with any rips/tears, with the two visible on the driver's seat, and one on the bolster. And the back seat has what appears to be a small burn hole. Other than that, it's pretty clean.

I think 198 or 199k, to be a little more precise than the original post stated. It had 192k on it when I purchased it less than a year ago, if that's any indication of how much I've been able to rely on it.

Hey, I'm getting a little more responses to it than I initially had anticipated, I was beginning to wonder if it was a wasted five bucks...

The battery is most definitely needing replaced, as it refuses to hold a charge.

One thing that is very important that I forgot to update since I moved over the summer: I live in terre haute, IN 47802. But it's not a problem. I suppose as a measure of how much I believe in this vehicle, I will drive it up to noblesville whenever I come to an agreement with an interested party to help quell any sort of doubts that the vehicle is fit for use/travel.

When I sat down in it for the first time in months to try and jump start it, I immediately fell in love with the comfort of the seats all over again. It's hard to sell it, but I've made my decision, and I'll benefit more from selling it. Besides, not to say I can't ever get another one in the future...

Well... The sale has fallen through as far as I can tell. It's up and running, as well. Fires up and will most definitely go anywhere. Has a brand new battery and a full tank of premium. Somebody come get this car.

Couple of questions. How bad is the subframe bent and does it affect the alignment of the car? The price still 500.00? I live in Wisconsin and would need to drive it back. I'm looking to get my son a car and the fact that it needs a little work would be a great learning experience for him. Another SHO to work on would be fun.

The bent subframe doesn't seem to affect the alignment as much as the tie rod ends needing replaced does. After a grueling radiator replacement ceremony that lasted until one in the morning because of "revisions" on the replacement from autozone, it drove from tangier to noblesville (1 1/2 hours) at highway speeds with no problem. So the car has a new battery and radiator. For 500 bucks? A steal of a deal. If I posted this thing on craigslist, it'd be gone already, haha. But I want this car to be used and cared for by an enthusiast, not thrashed and scrapped. PM has been sent, MX.
