shrug I have another issue with my SHO. I recently had new valve cover gaskets, grommets, wires, plugs, & egr valve installed. I had a misfire that is now solved but now I noticed I have light smoke coming from the engine. After driving there is always this burning scent. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the valve covers weren't put on very well so they are leaking onto the exhaust manifold creating the smoke and the smell.

Need more info. Does it smell like burning oil? Can you tell where its coming from? A smoking sho could be numerous things...

The valve cover seal at the drivers side rear corner could have been displaced during the reinstallation of the cover. Check this area for oil leakage from the seal. An excerpt from my valve gapping procedure:

45. Install the valve covers. It is best to install the front bank valve cover first so as not to reach across the open front bank to install the rear cover. Be careful that the seal stays in the grooves in the valve covers. This is very important on the rear valve cover since the interference and visibility make it more difficult to install.

If you didn't notice this until after the valve cover seal replacement, I'd start there first. I have a burnt oil smell from my engine's front main seal leaking down unto the cats and burning off. It's not severe enough to notice any smoke. This could also be a source of your oil burning issue.

EO SHO, hope to see you June 14th for the St. Louis meet. Maybe we can help diagnose the problem for you then.
